Foxy is our easy-driving 3.5 tonne Peugeot Boxer horsebox, with room for two horses and three people up front. She can be driven on a standard car licence — no HGV needed — by drivers aged 22 to 70 who have held a full British licence for at least two years. On the road, stallion partitions keep your horses safely separated, and Foxy is fitted with a horse and reversing camera. At the back there is a small tack area with shelves, saddle and bridle pegs and a hanging area, with access through to the horses — and a lightweight ramp makes loading straightforward. Every hire comes with comprehensive insurance for one driver, 24-hour breakdown cover and a full tank of fuel, with up to 300 miles included per day and 50p a mile after that. Collection and return are at our Dumfries base between 7am and 7pm, and you are welcome to leave your own vehicle with us, free of charge, while you are away. Subject to availability, you can collect from 7pm the evening before your hire for £25, and delivery within 30 miles can be arranged.
Drivers must be at least 23 years old to hire any of our vehicles.
Drivable on a standard car licence (Category B) — most drivers qualify.
A £500 security deposit is pre-authorised 12 hours before collection.
